Welcome to the Discover Weld - the web site showcasing the great people, places and events that call Weld County home. If you’re new to this site, thanks for visiting, and if you’re returning, welcome back!
If you thought the Dog Days of Summer referred to the summer heat getting the best of our four-legged friends – and us - think again. The original meaning actually referred to the position of the “dog” star Sirius in the sky. Read more about this in Becky Little’s National Geographic’s article by clicking here.
Be it star positions or summer heat, the Dog Days bring plenty of great events to our county, and you won’t want to miss a single one!
Check out our Events tab to learn about the parades, concerts in the park, family movies and so much more happening this month!
Many of you have participated in the Family Bike Ride Series this summer, and we thank you. There are still more rides to take so make sure you mark your calendar. And share your family bike ride photos with us by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
