Did you know that Rio Grande turkeys can be found in Weld County, primarily along the South Platte and the Cache La Poudre Rivers? “In 1980, the former Colorado Division of Wildlife (now Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife) introduced the first Rio Grande wild turkeys into Colorado along the South Platte River near the town of Hillrose,” in neighboring Morgan County.
